Paint your pet is a custom class where everyone attending is working independently on individual paintings with help as required by Tia. We will be using acrylic paints on a 40cm x 50cm canvas in this class and you of course keep your creation.

You will be required to send through a reference image of your pet a two weeks prior to the class so Tia can sketch your pet onto the canvas prior to the class.

Guidelines for Reference Photos

To ensure you get the most out of your Paint Your Pet experience, please choose your reference photo with care:

• One pet per painting — this allows us to give each subject the attention to detail it deserves.

• Choose clarity over complexity — challenging features include:

• Multicoloured fur patterns (e.g., brindle, tabby) — for these, a close-up portrait works better than a full body image.

• Intricate feather markings.

• Very curly fur — a headshot will allow us to focus on key features like eyes and noses.

• One reference photo only — I’m unable to merge or alter features from multiple photos. If you’re unsure, you can send a few options for me to help you pick the best one.

The right reference image makes all the difference — it will make your painting more enjoyable, achievable, and rewarding.
