You will be required to send through a reference image of your pet by September 14th for this class. The sketches are done by hand which takes time, so they can’t be sent through last minute.
I have updated guidelines for reference images so please read carefully:
One pet only. Kids struggle to paint more than 1 animal in the class. Keep in mind your child’s capabilities! We want them to have fun and not be daunted by details. Things that make a painting hard are: Multicoloured fur in large quantities (so if you have a brindle dog or tabby cat just make it a head shot), any pattern on feathers, curly hair dogs live Cavoodles, rather than send a full body photo, make it a close up portrait so we can focus on the important features like eyes and noses. Please send through 1 reference, I can’t combine images for this class. You’re welcome to send multiple if you need help choosing the best one, but I can’t give you the ears of one, and eyes of another.
This is a guided 3hr kids class for children between 8-16 years old. If your children fall outside this age bracket feel free to enquire to find out if this class is right for you. Parents are very welcome to stay throughout the class and are generally encouraged but not necessary.
We will be using acrylic paints on a 40cm x 50cm canvas in this class. Your children keep their creations. The canvases are pre-sketched by me to help build confidence and help ensure an attractive finished piece.
